Hello my favorite people!
Its been awhile! I hope everyone is doing great! As for me, God has been ever so faithful and a great God to me. He's been blessing me every day, so much so I wish I could keep track of everything He has done for me here.We celebrated 4th of July by Charles River, on the Harvard Bridge. It was such a sight! If you have a boat license, you can actually drive your boat near the fireworks barge which is moored in the middle of the Charles River. So what I saw and enjoyed that wonderful day was people in mega huge family tents, mothers and sons playing softball on the closed roads, giant-sized coconut juice, the famous Boston Pops and definitely the awesome fireworks. Despite having a 'million' people there (I seriously think that the number of people that were there equal our Singapore population), we managed to find our perfect spot - the center of the Harvard Bridge. I took a 20mins footage of the fireworks and what you'll see is a full coverage of the fireworks, right smack in the center of the screen. I'll try to upload it on YouTube soon.
Last weekend, we took a coach down to a factory outlet. It costs US$38 to get there and I did not bring enough cash to pay for the bus ticket. And then the amazing thing happened. The coach driver decided to give us one free ticket because we were a large group so I actually did not have to pay for the ticket!
Another day, we ordered in pizza for dinner. When I wanted to chip it on the meal, my friend told me not to worry as it has already been paid for!
The food here is really really expensive. When I was in New York, I saw a road stall selling shish kebab. Thinking that the road stalls in Thailand sell a stick for only $0.80, I decided to buy it. The vendor asked for US$5.00. I totally regretted it and it taste really horrible. :(
Hot dogs costs US$3.00 and salad lunches goes by weight. So it costs about an average of bout US$5.00 depending on how much you take. Bagels costs about $3.25 and burritos costs $7.99.
Amazing thing is that half-leg chicken in the supermarket is really cheap. You can get for only $1.99. I sometimes eat that for dinner and its really filling! Frozen entrées in the supermarket is really cheap! I can get a set meal for just $1.00 so they have been stocked up in my fridge and I have been eat them for lunch and dinner. :D
Though work has really kept me busy but it has been so much fun! Yesterday, our product owner approved of our game design and she totally loves it!
Thanks to my friends who are avid photographers, I have about 5,000 pictures of Chicago, Boston and New York. I'll try to post some visuals from time to time.
